I just finished the card for week 15. Week 15’s Mixed Media Altered Playing Card Challenge presented by Maremi’s Creative Cafe on Facebook was 0 – Obsession. While I had been posting the a few weeks behind. I got behind creating. I had a weekend off and hoped to get some time to work on my art, writing, poetry, and blog. Some creating done however not what I needed for here. There is always hope.
Artistically speaking, I am embarrassed by this creation. It was rushed and looks it. I couldn’t find my cards so I used a manila envelope cut down to size. I didn’t dry it enough or wait for it to dry after gluing on the magazine. It just went down hill from there. Sorry! I debated about making another and never letting this one see the light of day, but sometimes being vulnerable with our failures as well as our success helps us grow as people and artist.
This weeks topic obsession is one I didn’t want to face. I have more of obsessions than I care to admit. When I sat down, the truth crept into my creation. While this isn’t one of my favorite creations, I do feel that as much as I hate to face it, I am obsessed with my weight. Desperately trying to loose fifty pounds again.
