I had hope to post the second part of the New Life Enterprises short story. Unfortunately, I was unable to get it even a basic edit. I had another funeral this week. Rest in Peace, Miss Larna.
On Friday, my husband driving home from his mothers on a wet roadway successfully avoided a turkey. It inspired the above art journal page. Later that evening his mom was admitted to the hospital. She went home yesterday, good and bad. Mostly bad, I think as her pain is no longer under control.
Thanks for your patience. Hope you enjoy my art journal page.
Sorry that I have been missing for a couple of weeks again. An aunt that I previously eluded to decided to call hospice in. I joined her kids, grandkids, and a sister in helping take care of her during this time of transition. She had great faith. Her funeral was over the weekend and today is the burial.
Above is the mixed media piece I created inspired by the time I spend with her. Aunt P., you are going to be missed. I love you.
Complicated relationship can make explanations boring. My family and I seem to be in a season of trials and loss. A couple of weeks ago, we experienced the pain of a love one dying, which is never easy but living 750 miles made it impossible for me to visit him during his short but intense illness.
There will not be a traditional funeral service either. So, I wrote the following poem to express my grief.
Praying sorrow doesn’t dark your door any time soon,
Week 14’s Mixed Media Altered Playing Card Challenge presented by Maremi’s Creative Cafe on Facebook was N – Numbers. This week turned to the personal again. There are a lot of number cards that are inspired by a certain look. I love that look but wanted to go in a different direction because I didn’t want to feel like a copy cat. But else can you do with numbers?
There is a story behind the numbers in this card. Each three digit number represents a place we’ve lived. I am convinced that there is a move in my future. If you knew my circumstances, you would think I am crazy.
The longest I have lived in one home is thirteen years. Once during my childhood and once during my children’s childhood. What is the longest you have lived in one place?
My life is so busy right now. Trying to find time to create these cards and blogging about them constitutes almost all my free time.
But I love both. Thank you for checking in on my blog. I am no longer ahead in the creation of these cards and just waiting to post. I am behind on both, hoping that my schedule will open up allowing me to catch up.
Week 13’s Mixed Media Altered Playing Card Challenge presented by Maremi’s Creative Cafe on Facebook was M – Me. This was a hard one for me. As I stated above my life is out-of-control. So, this card is about my faith carrying me.
